For Jeff Gros, the South is a magical place. It speaks to him. It's in his blood. It's a place where time stands still. Landscapes are overlooked, buildings are forgotten, and it's people are cut from a different cloth.
Jeff may call Los Angeles home, but it would be easy to think differently. Based on his photographs, Gros lives miles away from the stereotypical cliches of Hollywood, in a land where celebrities and unknowns intermingle and forgotten objects are valued as fine art. His honest observations show life for what it is, with no exaggerations or fabrications. This sincerity saturates both his personal and commercial work and has gained him the trust of such clients as ESPN the Magazine, Interscope Records and Sony BMG. Recently, Gros was honored with a coveted 2005 Grammy Nomination for Best Music Packaging. Growing up around photography shaped Gros' way of seeing the world. A photographer for over 10 years, Jeff has pushed himself and his creative medium, quietly amassing an impressive and diverse portfolio. He shows no signs of slowing down, as future plans include continued personal projects, client work, a book release of his haunting series "Memphis" and an accompanying gallery exhibit.
